Purpose statement

- This Financial year our highly qualified team performed a record number of life saving missions. - Our doctors cared for 5,452 people on board rescue aircraft throughout Qld, the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue community helicopters undertook 1,819 operations, and our air ambulance jets flew 414 missions across 26 countries. - Operations are out of community bases at Toowoomba, Mt Isa, Bundaberg, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. - Missions involve the treatment and transfer of seriously ill patients between hospitals for specialist treatments, as well as attending to the victims of serious accidentals and other search and rescue tasks over both land and sea.

Change of Purpose

- LifeFlight's profit-for-purpose initiatives recognize the need for commercial activities to fund the core community activities. - These commercial activities in FY19 will be centralized under a new company, LifeFlight Commercial to ensure absolute transparency between the commercial profit-for-purpose operations and the community helicopter service. - Without these enterprises, LifeFlight could not meet its self-funding obligations and sustain its level of service to the community.
