Purpose statement

The Trustee for Schultz Laubman Schultz Endowment Fund Trust was established to support vision research. The Trustee for Schultz Laubman Schultz Endowment Fund Trust, through the Australian College of Optometry, is committed to discovery and leading to the advancement of the preservation of sight, prevention of blindness and improvements in vision care and treatment through research. Research at the College is carried out through its research division - the National Vision Research Institute of Australia (NVRI). The NVRI leads basic, clinical and translational vision research programs ? income from the Trustee for Schultz Laubman Schultz Endowment Fund Trust is applied to support this research. The Trust Deed for the Fund requires that profits and property of the Fund must be applied soley towards vision research. Any surpluses on winding up or dissolution of the ACO's research activities should be transferred to another institution having objectives similar to the objectives of the ACO in relation to Vision research and should not be distributed for any other purpose.
