Purpose statement

For over 60 years, Caritas Australia has worked hand in hand with the most marginalised and remote communities in Australia and overseas to confront the challenges of poverty. Through partnerships with local organisations and Church networks, and as a member of Caritas Internationalis, the second-largest humanitarian network in the world, we are able to reach where the need is greatest and work together for a just future. As the International Aid and Development Agency of the Catholic Church in Australia, Caritas Australia works with and for all people, to address immediate needs and long-term goals, regardless of religion, race or political beliefs.
