Purpose statement

Funds were raised from the Australian community through events, online donations, and collections at shopping centres and other public spaces. These funds are then contributed to programs relating to the three categories of emergency response, development, and seasonal / welfare. Our emergency response program included assisting internally displaced people in Turkey, Pakistan, Morocco, Afghanistan, assisting people affected by conflict in Palestine and Sudan, providing winter support for communities around the world, an emergency nutrition response for acutely malnourished children, pregnant and lactating women in Yemen. Our development program included supporting livelihoods in Nigeria and WASH projects in Bangladesh, Lebanon, Pakistan and Somalia. In addition, we partnered with UNICEF in the implementation of Early Childhood Development Projects in Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Cambodia. We support a fixed primary health care clinic in Jordan (ongoing project). Our Seasonal and Welfare Program involved the sponsoring of orphan children and distributing food packs to the less fortunate in Ramadan as well as the Qurban program which distributed meat to those in need on Eid. Within Australia, we supported projects that focused on disaster flood relief in New South Wales and disaster preparedness for new arrivals. Finally, our work in Australia centred on fundraising, marketing, and communications in support of our mission.
