Purpose statement
The Hararian organisation was able to engage their members and the wider Muslim community with a vast range of activities and events throughout the year. These events included but are not limited to: Ramadan gatherings were people of all different ethnic backgrounds come together to break their fast. This was followed by activities for both the adults and the youth to reflect what Ramadan is about. Just like every year once Ramadan came to an end it was followed by the Eid celebration which included prayer, rides and face painting for the children and lots of food. The youth as always play a vital role in our community in planning events for the up coming generation and this year they did not disappoint. The highlight for the year was the career s expo which saw people from a vast range of career backgrounds and pathways speak to the youth about the different opportunities there are out there. It also included a workshop on how to sit and interview and write a resume. During the school holidays the children were also taken on excursions including to the farm. Monthly small events were also held to build connections amongst each other Other notable events and celebrations commemorated by the Hararian organisation include the annual celebration of the Prophet s birth which is involves chants, poems and recitations. This celebration sees many people of different backgrounds come together and enjoy the event. The Hararian organisation weekend school has once again in 2023 was marked by significant growth and success, highlighted by a remarkable 150% increase in student registration, a testament to the collaborative efforts of our faculty, staff, and administration in creating an enriching learning environment.
