Purpose statement
GIVIT is an innovative online platform that connects generosity with requests for practical donations of essential goods and services for people in need. GIVIT has a network of over 5,000 community partner organisations nationally to ensure people experiencing hardship get exactly what they need, when they need it. We support people impacted by natural disasters, domestic and family violence, homelessness, disability, or mental illness, whilst maintaining their dignity and safety. Generous individuals and organisations can donate goods, services, and funds through GIVIT.org.au, based on requests placed by state and local governments, and community partner organisations. 100% of publicly donated funds received by GIVIT to fund a request or for relief in disasters is used to purchase essential goods and services. Our secure digital platform provides a coordinated and transparent solution to donation management and removes the need for partner organisations to receive, sort, store and dispose of donations they don't need, enabling them to focus on their core service. In the year ending 30 June 2025, GIVIT spent $6.517 million purchasing items for people experiencing financial hardship. A large portion of these funds were donated to support people impacted by natural disasters in the year including the flooding events in North and Far North Queensland, TC Alfred, Western Queensland and NSW Mid North Coast. Support continued for those devastated by the 2022 floods in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, 2023 flooding in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, 2024/25 flooding in Far North Queensland and Victoria, and bushfires in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. GIVIT has also continued to support communities and families through our Domestic and Family Violence, First Nations Support, Ready to Learn and Christmas appeals.

GIVIT is a national not-for-profit donation platform that partners with more than 4,700 charities and support organisations around Australia to facilitate the donation of essential goods and services for people in need. Whether recovering from an emergency event, or experiencing hardship due to domestic and family violence, homelessness, disability or mental ill health, GIVIT ensures people get exactly what they need, when they need it. Generous individuals and organisations can donate items, services, and funds through GIVIT.org.au, based on requests placed by state and local governments, partner charities, and community organisations. We buy locally where possible to support the economic recovery of impacted regions and GIVIT's unique online platform eliminates the need for organisations to physically collect, sort and store well-meaning, unsolicited items which can hamper recovery efforts especially following disasters. GIVIT has provided more than 8.5 million essential items from inception in 2009 to 30 June 2024 to support people in need. In FY24, GIVIT diverted over 200,000 kilograms of quality goods from landfill and into the hands of people that need them. We registered 402 new support organisations and were activated by State Governments to manage donations in seven natural disasters. GIVIT spent $6.492 million purchasing essential goods and services for people experiencing financial hardship. A large portion of these funds were donated to support people impacted by natural disasters in the year including the flooding events in Far North Queensland and Victoria, and fires in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. Support continued for those devastated by the 2022 floods in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, and 2023 flooding in Kimberley, Western Australia. GIVIT has also continued to support communities and families through our Domestic and Family Violence, First Nations Support and Ready to Learn appeals.
