Purpose statement

As the largest and most trusted food relief charity operating in NSW and the ACT, Foodbank NSW & ACT fights hunger by providing quality food for people in need. In 2022/23, we supplied almost 22 million meals, mostly through our school, community and charity partners, who distribute food directly to hungry people in their communities. The majority of the food is donated in bulk by farmers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers, so we help save good food from going into landfill. However, we need more food than is donated, so we raise funds to buy extra food.
